What’s on this spring

Share

We’re lucky enough to be situated in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK. In the heart of the picturesque Cotswolds, there are a whole host of activities on our doorstep and our vineyard is the perfect base for exploring this spring. We’ve rounded up a few of our favourites in the local area to give you a taste of what’s on nearby this March, April and May.

March

Mid March welcomes the annual Cheltenham Festival, where the best British and Irish-trained horses race for prize money second only to the Grand National. If you’re in the area and fancy experiencing the famous ‘Cheltenham Roar’, there’s still time to pick up tickets for this season, taking place from 13th-16th March this year.

Lambing season will be well underway come March and the Cotswold Farm Park invite you along to experience the first bleats of new arrivals. With a flock of over 660 mums-to-be, visitors can expect loveable lambs and cheeky kid goats – you can even join in with bottle feeding activities and enjoy fact-packed talks from a member of the team!

Strike a Light Festival takes place from 21st-27th March this year, bringing theatre and live entertainment to the city of Gloucester. The week promises to be jam packed with music, food and exciting theatre – with tickets just £5-7 for specific events and less than a half hour drive from us, it’s one not to miss.

April

If you’re visiting Three Choirs Vineyard, we know you know good wine! With over 300 varieties to try, the Cheltenham Wine Festival takes place on 7th April this year, providing an informal setting for you to taste a abundance of world wines.

If food is your thing, the Tewkesbury Farmers’ and Craft Market takes place every second Saturday. Just 30 minutes from the vineyard, the market offers local meat, cheese, beers and ciders as well as unique handmade gifts and jewellery in the beautiful setting of the Abbey lawns.

Rugby fans can catch Gloucester V Harlequins this April, as the season draws to a close in a home game that promises to be both tense and atmospheric! The Kingsholm Stadium is just twenty minutes south of the vineyard.

May

May welcomes the popular Cheltenham Jazz Festival. With artistic curator Jamie Cullum, the five day event brings music from some of the most renowned musicians in the field. With Van Morrison, Corinne Bailey Rae and many more, festival tickets go on sale this month.

If popular music is more your thing, the PDSA, the UK’s biggest pet wellbeing charity, are bringing PetLife to Cheltenham on 6th May. With the Kaiser Chiefs, Jessie J and The Vamps headlining (and of course, your dog’s welcome), 2018 is the festival’s first year and promises to be quite the show!

Until the end of May, visitors to the area can discover the story of the influential international design movement with a tour of The Wilson’s Arts Council. Led by experienced volunteer guide Dave Walton, the tour takes place at the Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum until the 31st.

With so much on this spring, we’re sure you’ll find something that takes your fancy – but if the list above doesn’t strike you, we’d be more than happy to recommend some other local options when you visit us.
